Structured botanical wellness built from lived experience, ancestral knowledge, and global
manufacturing standards.
Built From Lived Experience
Zyzven Naturals was not created from trend forecasting or private label sourcing. It was built from lived health challenges, disciplined restructuring, ancestral knowledge, and long-term biological recalibration. Shawnafi grew up in rural Jamaica within a Maroon family, where herbal remedies were the standard foundation of daily life. Botanical preparation, plant-based healing traditions, and metabolic awareness were interwoven into generational practice.
The Health Journey
- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
- Hormonal dysfunction
- Hypothyroidism
- Alopecia
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Infertility
- Three brain tumours linked to hormonal imbalance
At age 23, she was diagnosed as menopausal and informed she was unlikely to conceive. Rather than accepting permanent limitation, she implemented structured dietary shifts, botanical support, medical oversight, metabolic recalibration strategies, and disciplined lifestyle restructuring. She has not experienced tumour recurrence since 2015. She later conceived naturally and gave birth to three children at ages 32, 34, and 38. Today, she no longer lives with diabetes, hypothyroidism, alopecia, obesity, or tumour recurrence. Her transformation was not based on miracle thinking, but on disciplined integration, consistency, and structured biological support.
Education & Professional Background
After relocating to Sweden, Shawnafi studied mental health and addiction support and worked with individuals living with neurodivergent conditions. This strengthened her understanding of behavioural restructuring, psychological resilience, and long term adherence to lifestyle interventions.
Addressing the Representation Gap
Throughout her journey, she identified a critical gap in the compliant wellness industry: major brands were not intentionally creating structured, culturally intelligent solutions for Black and Caribbean women navigating menopause and metabolic health transitions. This led to the publication of 'WombWise: A Culturally Rooted Menopause Guide with Reflections for Black & Caribbean Women' and the structured development of Zyzven Naturals as a globally compliant botanical wellness brand.
Social Impact & Sustainable Development
Through Zyzven Naturals, Shawnafi funds educational and sustainable development initiatives in The Gambia, supporting programmes that keep girls in school and strengthen long-term community stability. Education for girls is positioned as structural empowerment, not charity.
Today
Shawnafi divides her time between Sweden, the United Kingdom, and The Gambia. Zyzven Naturals operates with certified manufacturing partners, third-party laboratory verification, and global distribution infrastructure, positioned for disciplined international expansion.
